Aakash II to be launched in April, with long battery and faster processor.

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development Mr. Kapil Sibal announced that a faster version of insanely famous Aakash tablet will be launched in April. During the question hour Mr. Sibal said, Datawind will sell 1 lakh (100,000) units of Aakash 2.

Datawind a UK based company is manufacturing Aakash tablet. Aakash tablet is worlds most economical tablet priced at around Rs.3000. The new Aakash II will be also priced at Rs.3000.

The new tablet will have Cortex A8 700MHz processor, which will help speed up the device. It will have a capacitive touch screen. Aakash 2 will have 3200mAh battery with usage time of 3 hours.

Details of android version haven't been released but will most probably be 2.3.

Aakash II will be targeted towards students of higher technical education for feedback on usage and performance. Mr. Sibal also said  that aakash will be available for school student once production capacities are met.
