Nokia launched its 41 mega pixel phone 'Nokia 808 Pureview' at the Mobile World Congress 2012. Yes, you read it correctly and no, its not a typo. The 808 Pureview has a 41 MP camera. It is not only huge for a phone but also far too big for standard Point and shoot digital cameras.
Though the camera takes picture only at 39 MP it has 41 mega pixels on its sensors. So why do people have to bother? Because even if no one captures or more importantly store such large image, the data collected by all the pixels is used to create smaller but very highly detailed images. Which increases the quality of the pictures immensely.
The biggest complain about the phone is that it has Symbian Belle as the OS. After the recent success of the Nokia Lumia, everyone thought its next phone would be a Windows Phone. But in fact, Pureview's development began about 5 years ago. Which means its not a successor to Lumia.
In other aspects it has AMOLED ClearBlack display. The 4 inch display has 640x360 resolution. It has a 1.3 Ghz processor and 512 MB of ram so it will be fast enough and has an internal storage of 16 GB.
It has Wi-Fi, GPS and USB On-the-Go.
